WM60UDB is a set of two wireless microphones, operating on UHF frequency and having a very wide range of applications. Thanks to the included signal receiver (one receiver supporting two microphones) finished with a universal 6.3 mm jack connector, this device can be connected to any portable speakers equipped with a microphone input or to those devices that have a wired microphone with a short range. In situations where the external audio device has a 3.5 mm microphone socket, the included adapter can be used. Once the signal receiver is connected to the speaker and both microphones are powered on, the devices will automatically pair with each other and be ready to use. The microphones have a wide frequency response, which ranges from 65Hz to 18kHz and thus offer very good, detailed sound.
UHF Frequency
The wireless microphones Blaupunkt WM60UDB operate on UHF frequency, which is most suitable for this type of equipment. Because UHF waves mainly propagate in a line of sight, the microphone can be used in open spaces, but at the same time, the signal transmission is strong enough that building walls do not pose an obstacle, and the microphones can also be used indoors. The transmission of ultra-high frequencies allows for very good signal quality, using a relatively short antenna. For this reason, the receiver included with the microphone is very practical and handy, with a maximum working range of about 30 meters.
Power Supply
The microphones are powered by standard AA batteries. Batteries are included in the set and allow the microphones to operate continuously for about 3 hours. The signal receiver is equipped with a 1200mAh lithium-ion battery and allows for continuous operation for about 7 hours. The receiver has a built-in micro USB port for charging the battery, so it can be quickly charged using a universal charger, for example from a phone, with a charging current of 5V/1A. The charging status and full charge is indicated by the built-in LED indicator.
16 UHF Channels
Both microphones in the WM60UDB set support 16 channels in the UHF frequency range: one microphone from 640 MHz to 647.5 MHz, the other from 650 MHz to 657.5 MHz. These are fully legal and optimal frequency bands for this type of equipment. The device automatically changes the band when it detects interference or another device emitting a signal on the same frequency. This allows for seamless and uninterrupted operation in various conditions.
Ergonomics and User Comfort
The microphones in the WM60UDB set are extremely lightweight – weighing only 155 g each, they are made of high-quality materials. The shape and diameter of the casing are appropriately designed to ensure a comfortable grip and easy handling of the microphone. In the middle part of the casing, there is a sliding on/off switch for the microphone and a display indicating the device’s readiness for operation. The removable bottom cover of the casing allows easy access to the batteries for replacement. The microphone head is made of durable mesh and is lined internally with foam that protects the microphone from dust and moisture and provides basic wind protection.
WM60UDB is an ideal accessory for BLAUPUNKT PA and MB series speakers, but it also has universal applications for other devices available on the market.
