Imbuia.
Imbuia (Ocotea porosa) – is one of the most interesting types of exotic wood, also known as Brazilian walnut. Imbuia grows in the subtropical forests of southern Brazil, where it can reach up to 35 meters in height. Its distinguishing features are beautiful purple flowers and an unusual shape – it is not uncommon for two trees to grow next to each other intertwining their branches. Imbuia, like most species of exotic wood, is characterized by excellent technical parameters: above-average hardness, stability, durability, and moisture resistance. However, what particularly distinguishes imbuia wood is its incredibly original and varied coloration. The color range includes shades from beiges, light yellows, and even delicate greens to shiny browns, saturated reds, and deep blacks. Imbuia wood also features a specific grain pattern, which is convoluted, irregular, and marked on each element with a different intensity.
